Advice with regards to New Testament Sabbath

When we had Bible reading and study a good many years earlier, a fellow pupil who had been a Firmly established Believer and had had an effective ministry in the church for years and years, made this statement, “….sure thing, but Abraham held onto the God’s Law hence he had an understanding as regards to….” (she really was not referring to the pre-Mosaic laws). I question how many Believers will if truth be told discern the error in this declaration. Moses arrived on the scene around 5oo years or so following on after Abraham hence it is impossible. Equally, a teacher mistakenly brought up 1Ti 1:4 …’nor to busy oneself with superstitions and never-ending lineage which advance strange ideas instead of the Divine instruction that is in Godly trust….’. I attempted to make clear that that Verse was pertaining to the fraudulent doctrine and thinking of Gnostic wisdom. But he wouldn’t have it.
Let me ask, how can a preacher in the Biblical doctrines, not identify and understand about a problem which seemingly approximately 1/2 the writings & books of the New Testament speak of?

How can a reverend distinguish and teach the Bible in balance without competentcy about this group which was really quite key in the New Testament days? And then tell me, how can the congregation attempt to grasp these topics and be efficient to interpret their Scripture.

Why do we as Christians get trapped in a program of favorite things and feel-good homilies?
